Massanutten Resort is one of the Mid-Atlantic’s Premier Four Season Resort Destinations. You’ll find adventure around every corner at Massanutten Resort!

1. Family Friendly

Massanutten Resort makes it easy for families to get away and enjoy vacation time together. The resort covers 6000 acres, and all of the fun adventures, events, dining options, and lodging are all within a short drive of each other.
Whether you are looking for a calm and relaxing getaway or an action-packed week, your family is sure to find what they are looking for. Something that really stood out at Massanutten was how convenient and easy our stay was.
Massanutten Resort offers so many fun adventure options on-site, and using the ‘Build you Own Package‘ online made planning our stay a simple process. Even our condo was made to feel like home, with a full kitchen that made cooking for the family hassle-free.
And let’s be honest, vacations are rarely vacations for parents. Dragging hundreds of pounds of beach gear to and from the beach, fighting traffic, or standing in long lines waiting for rides can all easily kill your vacation vibe. But convenience is the name of the game at Massanutten Resort!
You are always just a short car ride from a fun adventure without the hassle. The easy-going atmosphere runs through the entire resort; every staff member we encountered was friendly and helpful and made our stay that much more enjoyable.
Massanutten is an easy 2.5 hours from DC; perfect for those who want to get away from the city but also accessible to those with younger kids who may not be ready for longer car trips.
2. Adventures

The adventures are endless year-round at Massanutten Resort! Summer at Massanutten has adventures perfect for all ages.
You can hit the mountains to climb, bike, hike and more; cool off in one of the many pools; spend the day at the Water Park; challenge yourself at the Family Adventure Park; be entertained while you dine; work together in an escape room and more!
The adventures are family friendly with several options that allow for kids of different ages to try different activities at the same place. For parents with kids napping there are plenty of options that don’t require booking time slots.
Our summer getaway was packed with adventure. You can read more about our adventures here.
3. Four Seasons of Fun

The mountains aren’t only for snow sports! Any time is the perfect time for a getaway to Massanutten Resort. The warmer weather brings zip lining, golf, rock climbing, river adventures, rope courses, hiking, biking and more!
We were blown away by the selection of activities available in summer. Of course, you can enjoy all of your favorite winter sports on and around the snow-covered slopes during the colder months, but snow sports aren’t the only thing happening when it’s cold.
Massanutten WaterPark can be enjoyed year-round, as can the escape rooms, nature center, spa, and more.
4. Accommodations for Everyone

One of my favorite moments of our trip was pulling up and seeing the beautiful house that we would call ‘home’ during our vacation.
We stayed at the Regal Vistas, a gated community that features brand new, modern townhomes surrounded by some of the most gorgeous views you’ll ever see.
After a long day of adventuring (and getting the kids to bed), we really loved relaxing on our decks with a glass of wine looking out over the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Stunning views aside, the Regal Vistas were still a highlight of the trip. As many of you know, I am part Adventure Mom, part real estate agent, and the Realtor in me must say that these homes are an absolute dream- the open concept features spacious rooms, tons of natural light (thanks to the floor to ceiling windows) and bathrooms that are the definition of luxury. T
he Mom in me loved that the updated kitchen was fully stocked with everything I needed for the week: dishes, silverware, platters, cooking and baking utensils, wine glasses- all the comforts of home were right there at my fingertips.
The Regal Vistas were perfect for our Adventure Crew, as the townhomes are adjoining. During the day the kids were free to open the door between our laundry rooms (yes, each home has a washer and dryer!) and our homes became one large playspace, but at night we were able to separate and go about our own bedtime routines.
Each home also had a garage and access to an outdoor pool, picnic area, and gym.
While we would highly recommend staying at the Regal Vistas, there are many other lodging options available and you can check them out here.
5. Enjoy the Great Outdoors

The Adventure Moms are nothing if not outdoor-enthusiasts and we loved spending time in the mountains with our families. The Shenandoah Valley offers a range of adventures for thrill seekers and nature lovers alike.
In addition to all our fun adventures, our kids loved spotting wildlife along the roads, from our decks, on the chairlift up to Massanutten Peak and all around the resort.
The Nature Center was a great resource for our little nature lovers to learn more about the local environment. Our 3 year old even saw a fox one night after a show.
We spent very little time indoors (awake) while we were at Massanutten!
