When you want to book the holiday of a lifetime in one of Europe’s great cities there are a few things you need to know. To point you in the right direction we’ve put together the 6 key tips you need to ensure your family adventure holiday in Prague goes off without a hitch. So, without further ado, let’s take a look at everything you need to know.
You can turn history and sightseeing into a real adventure
First things first, we need to explain that to have an adventure holiday you don’t have to camp out in the middle of nowhere. Whilst these types of vacations are certainly fun and invigorating, they can also leave you feeling rather tired and in need of a rest once you get home. To give you an alternative to this all-action approach, we’ve given some thought to adventure holidays that are actually based in the city.
Prague offers something for everyone, no matter how young or old the kids are, which makes it the ideal destination if you want to get away from it. By taking in the iconic Prague Castle and Charles Bridge one day, and the mazy backstreets and artisan outlets the next, you can turn exploring a great city into the adventure of a lifetime.

The zoo offers plenty of entertainment for a day out with the whole family
The great thing about heading to the zoo is that you know what you’re going to get, but you’re still going to love every minute of it. By showing the kids all sorts of weird and wonderful animals you can spark their imagination into life in a way that few other attractions can.
To add to the spirit of adventure why not create an animal hunt checklist that will get the kids excited to find out what’s around every corner. It’s what gets the whole family in the spirit of things, and will get you all excited to leave no stone left unturned as you go in search of those last few elusive animals.

Walking holidays are a great way to see the city and surrounding countryside
Just because you’re based in the city doesn’t mean you have to get an Uber everywhere you go. There’s plenty of little winding side streets and back streets that will capture your imagination, not to mention some stunning countryside only a few miles outside the greater Prague area.
Take your time to get out of the city for a day or so, and you’ll be glad that you did. Whilst Prague offers something incredible around virtually every corner, there’s no substitute for getting away from the hustle and bustle for a few hours. If you’re someone who loves to stretch your legs and immerse yourself in a journey, why not book a night at a small country hotel a day’s walk from where you’re staying in the city centre? It’ll give you a reason to keep on walking and exploring, and it’ll prove a nice change to the excitement and speed of city life.

If you’re going cycling in the hills, make sure you pack accordingly
If you want to really get adventurous then you could hire some bikes for the week. They’ll be a great way to see some of the quieter parts of Prague, as well as to zip out into the countryside for a picnic if the mood takes you.
The key things to remember here are not to venture into the busiest central areas of the city where you’ll find cycling quite stressful, and to pack accordingly. Whilst you’ll be able to rent the bike and helmet, you’ll want to take some loose-fitting clothes so you’re not chaffing trying to cycle in your new skinny jeans.

Let the kids burn off plenty of energy
Getting away from it all is as much about having a little break from the chores of home life as it is about getting out there and seeing the world. This means that if you want to ensure a couple of hours of quality time together in the evening, you’re going to want to ensure the kids tire themselves out in time for bed. Take them to plenty of playgrounds and parks, let them stretch their legs, and try not to spend too much time driving from place to place. That way they’ll get back to the hotel ready for a quick spot of dinner and deep sleep.

Hire an event planner to ensure everything runs smoothly
Our final bright idea for you is to treat yourself to an event planner if you need one. You could be meeting up with your extended family during your break for a special meal, celebrating an anniversary, watching two of your loved ones tie the knot in style. No matter what it is, an event planner is the person you need when you want to ensure everything runs smoothly. They’ll be able to coordinate all the timings and guests, make sure the food is just how you like it, and take care of all the finishing touches like gifts, music, and lighting. Everything that you would take weeks to plan back home, but would find near impossible to do at a distance in a foreign city.
