Move over, Elf on the Shelf! A new holiday tradition is here that gives children a opportunity to learn about themselves, selflessness and wishing others well. Reindeer In Here was named the #1 new trend by Top 10 Christmas Trends. Reindeer In Here is a book and plush reindeer that ‘magically’ arrives (courtesy of parents) in December. Children name their reindeer and are encouraged to bring them along with them on all their pre-holiday adventures. Each night the your child’s reindeer writes letters back to Santa to report on their friend’s true Christmas wishes. On Christmas Eve children leave their reindeer under the tree to wait for a ride back to the North Pole with Santa.
The book introduces the story of why the reindeer friend comes to stay. Santa wants to figure out how he can find out Christmas wishes for all children when only some of them write him letters. When Santa asks his reindeer for help, one small reindeer with a small antler and big blue eyes suggests Santa sends the reindeer to stay with kids, getting to know them so they can report back to Santa. The book highlights celebrating what makes us unique. Kids can write down wishes, but it is not necessary to enjoying the tradition.
We saw Reindeer In Here at TTPM this year and got them for our children this holiday. We love that the reindeer is not a spy for Santa, but that kids are encouraged to bring their reindeer along on adventures!
Reindeer In Here book & plus set is $32.99 available at amazon.com and in over 1200 retailers including Hallmark, Learning Express, and independent gift/toy stores.
