Buckle up and brace yourself! Xtreme Xperience is speeding through the Dominion Raceway in Virginia. There is no better way to describe your experience than extreme! Xtreme Xperience offers drivers the opportunity to drive real super cars on real race tracks with real instruction. The ride along with an instructor, who is also a professional race car driver, had me doubting if I would be able to complete the course alive. There is a big emphasis on safety (for obvious reasons!), but for people without experience on the track it can be a little intimidating. Luckily you don’t have to drive as fast as the professionals if you’re not comfortable.
The whole process is streamlined and run like the well oiled machines on the track. From check in to safety brief to the pit to the track and back out to check out everything is clearly marked and easy to navigate. There are a bunch of different packages to choose from. Xtreme Xperience set us up with the Supercar Driving Xperience and High Speed Ride-Along. They even offer video and photo packages to document your need for speed. If you do need help the staff are very helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. Xtreme Xperience is only for licensed drivers, but families are welcome to watch from the Pit and cheer their racers on. After our laps we taught our little racers the hand signals and racing terms our instructors used and they have had a blast back seat driving like we are at the track ever since.
My husband and I each drove a Lamborghini Huracán. This car is so unlike anything we have ever driven, or even been in. It’s no wonder they call these things Supercars. It is so smooth and powerful! I drive in the Mommy lane usually, but once I finally accepted that the Huracán had what seem to be super hero capabilities, I was able to pull into the fast lane. My only complaint is that it took me so long trust I wouldn’t crash, that I left wanting more. Now that I have some warm up laps under my belt I am ready to return to the track and really burn some rubber. The whole experience was thrilling, exciting and somewhat terrifying.
