Blue Mountain Resort is kicking off January promoting safety on the slopes! We will be highlighting aspects of the Skiers Safety Responsibly Code through promotions and interactions with Ski Patrollers.
The push of Safety Week is to create awareness that there are elements of risk in skiing that common sense and personal awareness can help reduce. This week of safety activities and education is part of Blue Mountainβs participation in the National Ski Area Associations efforts to educate skiers and snowboarders about being safe on the slopes.
January 6th β 12th & 17th β 19th guests can participate in the following Safety Week Programs:
Chair Simulator
The Safety Chair Simulator is back in the Valley for more action! Located next to the Valley First Aid building.
Visit the moving Safety Chair Simulator to learn chair lift loading, riding and unloading safety. Plus, stop by the Blue Crew booth for some safety tips and Blue Mountain Swag!
Bars for Bars
Safe guests get sweet rewards! Anyone spotted riding the lift with their safety bar down will be given a sweet treat from our Mountain Hosts & Ski Patrol!
Times are Monday-Friday 4pm-close and Weekends 10am-2pm.
Scavenger Hunt
Hunting for Safety! Open to school groups Monday 1/6 to Friday 1/10 6-9pm.
Pick up a punch card at the ticket window and start hunting! Ski Patrol will hole punch your scavenger card for every item found. Those who complete the hunt will receive a FREE lift ticket!
Vouchers are valid from March 2nd through the end of the 2019/2020 season.
Poster Contest
Calling All Young Artists! (ages 12 & under) Use your creativity to make a Safety Poster featuring an element of the Smart Style or Skier & Rider Responsibility Code, and enter it for a chance to win a Blue Mountain Season Pass! Blue Mountain’s Winner will also be entered into the National Ski Area Association’s Safety Poster Contest for a chance to be featured in their magazine!

Safety Video Contest
Be Safe, Be Creative! Enter to win fame, glory and a Blue Mountain Lift Ticket & $25 Gift Card – just grab a camera and film a short safety video! Here’s what you need to know:
DATES: Video is due January 12th at 11:59pm
VOTING: Voting takes place January 13th – 16th. The video with the most likes will win! Earn an additional vote for every share your video gets. Winner will be announced January 17th.
THE DETAILS:
- Film a short video, no more than 60 seconds
- Feature one element of the Responsibility Code
- Up to 4 people can be included on a “team”in producing the video
- Submit videos to Marketing@skibluemt.com
- Once voting starts, get your friends to vote for your video by giving it a like! Earn an additional vote for every share the video gets!
Prize: The winning person or team will receive a lift ticket and $25 gift card valid anywhere at Blue Mountain Resort
