We had a wonderful time at the Hylton Performing Arts Center watching a crane, bulldozer, dump truck, excavator and cement mixer come to life in an adorable musical adaptation of the New York Times best-selling picture book Goodnight, Goodnight, Construction Site. Seeing this awarding winning book, presented by the Bay Area Children’s Theatre, live on stage was a wonderful treat!
The young kids in the crowd were enthralled by the characters and lively music. The performance carried a great message of working together as a team, being there for friends, and making sure you get a good night sleep- a message all parents can appreciate!
The show runs for approximately one hour, which is perfect for little ones. Performances like this are a wonderful way to introduce even the youngest of audience members to the arts. I had three boys, ages 3-5, with me and they were mesmerized from beginning to end.
Goodnight, Goodnight, Construction Site is part of the Family Series running at the Hylton Performing Arts Center. We are so excited to check out their upcoming Family Series performances including upcoming 2018 Summer Performances for Young Audiences such as Brass 5, Single Carrot Theatre: Rumpled! and Flow Circus.
