Hylton at Home Story Corner: “What a Wonderful World”

April 17 @ 10:15 am - 11:00 am

Free

The Hylton Performing Arts Center and the Prince William Public Library System have joined forces to present Hylton at Home Story Corner: “What a Wonderful World,” a free virtual performing arts story time on Saturday, April 17 at 10:15 a.m. This digital event is part of the new Hylton at Home series, a curated platform of digital arts experiences that can be enjoyed from the comfort of your home.

First recorded in 1967 by Louis Armstrong, and with sales of over one million copies, “What a Wonderful World” has become a poignant message of hope for people everywhere.

Each story time will be pre-recorded and premiere on both the Hylton Center and Prince William Public Library’s social media channels at 10:15 a.m. on the third Saturday of the month. The library will prepare reader advisories for each book that list similar books children and families may want to explore. This Hylton at Home Story Corner will be read by: Darden Purcell, Director of Jazz Studies, Reva and Sid Dewberry Family School of Music, George Mason University.

Based on the song by Bob Thiele & George David Weiss as sung by Louis Armstrong, Illustrated by Tim Hopgood

“What a Wonderful World” will be available to watch beginning Saturday, April 17 at 10:15 a.m. ET simultaneously on this webpage, the Hylton Center Facebook page, and YouTube channel. It will be available to watch until June 30, 2021.
