An event every week that begins at 10:30 am on Wednesday, repeating until August 15, 2018

The Gaithersburg Community Museum presents a program of exploration for young visitors takes place on Wednesday mornings from 10:30 a.m. to noon in July and August.

Supplies are limited (first come, first served). Admission is free with no reservations required. Donations to cover program costs are appreciated.

July 11 – Vacation Journals
Make a journal to preserve your vacation memories. Record thoughts and events, draw pictures and tuck things into a back pocket.

July 18 – Animal Day
Meet the City of Gaithersburg Police Department’s K-9 Unit at 10:45 a.m. Make toys for rescue animals to send to area shelters. Meet the Animal Welfare League of Montgomery County, MD (AWLMC). Learn about their cat shelter and possibly meet a shelter cat. Meet Frodo the therapy dog from 11:30 a.m. -12 p.m.

July 25 – Origami
Learn how to fold paper into fun forms.

August 1 – Music
Victor Litz will be here with some musical instruments. Make one to take home.

August 8 – Playing with String
Learn the basics of knitting and crocheting, play string games and make string art.

August 15 – Fun with Science
Explore all things science with creative hands-on activities.
