Spy Fest: A Kidspy Family Festival

Find out if you could be the next 007. Do you have the savvy to beat a lie-detector? The smarts to break a top secret coded message? The wits to create secret writing? The moves of a Ninja? Families are invited to find out how they measure up at the Museum’s Annual Spy Fest. Mini-missions, tradecraft demonstrations by the experts, and the chance to try spy skill challenges will give KidSpy agents and their handlers an insider’s peek into the shadow world of spying—and who knows, there just may be a spy or two in your midst…

Not to be missed highlights include:

  • Questioned Documents –Learn how to analyze handwriting, signatures and find hidden marks on documents using evidence from real investigations with FBI forensic scientists.
  • Speaking in Code –Meet an FBI cryptanalyst and try to crack her coded messages.
  • Spies and Lies –Can you beat the polygraph?
  • The Spy’s Eye View –Hear from former spy who offers an inside look into her life as an intelligence officer in the CIA’s Clandestine Service.
  • Ninjutsu demonstration –Explore the traditional martial arts form of Ninja also associated with espionage in Japan.
  • Lockpicking – Meet members of TOOOL: The Open Organization of Lockpickers and try your hand at uncovering the mysteries of lock technology.

Ages: 5 and up* (one adult required for every five KidSpy agents)
