Get a behind-the-scenes look at the Alexandria School of Highland Dance!
ASHD teaches traditional Scottish Highland dancing through classes, performances, and competitions in Alexandria and throughout the DC area. Join us for an open house on Sunday, August 13 at 3:30pm at 2377 S Dove St, Alexandria, VA 22314 to get a behind-the-scenes look at our classes and learn more about the combined historical art form and modern sport which is Highland dancing.
In this free, family-friendly event, come learn a couple of steps, watch a brief performance by our current students, and hear the myths and legends attached to each dance we do. You’ll also have a chance to chat with the teachers, take an up-close look at costumes, and hear about class offerings for the 2023-2024 school year. Whether you’ve been watching Highland dancing all your life, or whether this is the first time you’ve heard of it, come along and say hi!
Suitable for all ages, both kids and adults, but the youngest students we teach are age five.
