Tuesday, May 8, 2018 is Häagen-Dazs® annual Free Cone Day. Visit participating Häagen-Dazs Shops in the U.S. from 4-8 p.m. to receive one free scoop of ice cream or sorbet in a cup, sugar cone or cake cone (see list of local shops below). This year also marks the 10th anniversary of Häagen-Dazs Loves Honey Bees. The brand is dedicating Free Cone Day to the hard-working pollinators and asking consumers to support the buzz.
The Extraordinary Honey Bee is a new immersive VR experience created by Häagen-Dazs. View the world through a bee’s perspective, learn about the plight of the honey bee and discover simple ways to help them thrive. On Free Cone Day, consumers visiting the Georgetown location can experience the video using VR technology.
100+ crops benefit from pollinators like bees. 1/3 of the food we eat and 1/3 of Häagen-Dazs flavors are bee dependent, but bees are disappearing at an alarming rate! Häagen-Dazs is committed to planting more bee-friendly habitats on U.S. farms to keep bees buzzing. Häagen-Dazs has donated more than $1M for bee research and planted more than 11,000 plants, impacting 840 acres of supplier farmland – benefitting millions of pollinators! You can help too!! Donate to the Xerces Society (xerces.org/hd) to help protect bee habitat and reach a goal of planting 1 million acres of habitat for bees.
