Here in the DC area we often focus on what’s happening in DC, Maryland and Virginia, but Pennsylvania is a great place for families to visit! There are so many adventures in PA that we decided to focus on Eastern Pennsylvania because it is close and has a high concentration of family fun. Philadelphia, Pennsylvania is an exciting city and worth a solo trip to explore the rich history and culture. We are excited to share some of our favorite STEAM family activities in Eastern Pennsylvania.

Getting There
Much of the Pennsylvania family adventures are close enough for a day trip or an overnight. If you’re hitting the road for a long weekend or a longer trip there is a loop you can drive from from DC to maximize your adventure. Going up to Philadelphia, then North toward Easton for the Crayola Experience, turn around and head down I-81.
Where to Stay
If you take to the road for a longer trip, camping is a fun way to explore the rural areas of Pennsylvania. As always there are great family friend options available in the area on vrbo.com and airbnb.com.
