Toy Story holds a very special place in my heart. My 5-year-old has been obsessed with the popular franchise, especially Buzz Lightyear, for the majority of his life. We have every piece of Buzz paraphernalia imaginable. So while Toy Story has cost me a small fortune in Buzz-gear, his undying love for that brave space ranger melts my heart, and to say that I have been looking forward to the release of Toy Story 4 is the understatement of the century.
We were able to attend an advanced screening of Toy Story 4 this week and it was fantastic!! I don’t want to give any spoilers but we loved it and it kept us laughing the whole time! We loved the newest addition, Forky. My little Toy Story-enthusiast even declared it “the best of all the movies, ever!!”

The fourth installment of Toy Story captured all the charm and excitement of its predecessors and once again focused on friendship, family, and loyalty. Bo Peep is a straight up BOSS and I was really happy to see such a strong, smart female lead. Most importantly*, the ending definitely left the door open for a Toy Story 5, so look out for my online petition coming soon. For a full description of the movie, trailers, and pictures of my son with some of his favorite Buzz Lightyear merch, keep reading below!
*In my biased opinion
Woody (voice of Tom Hanks) has always been confident about his place in the world, and that his priority is taking care of his kid, whether thatβs Andy or Bonnie. So when Bonnieβs beloved new craft-project-turned-toy, Forky (voice of Tony Hale), declares himself as βtrashβ and not a toy, Woody takes it upon himself to show Forky why he should embrace being a toy. But when Bonnie takes the whole gang on her familyβs road trip excursion, Woody ends up on an unexpected detour that includes a reunion with his long-lost friend Bo Peep (voice of Annie Potts). After years of being on her own, Boβs adventurous spirit and life on the road belie her delicate porcelain exterior. As Woody and Bo realize theyβre worlds apart when it comes to life as a toy, they soon come to find thatβs the least of their worries.
Directed by Josh Cooley (βRileyβs First Date?β), and produced by Mark Nielsen (associate producer βInside Outβ) and Jonas Rivera (βInside Out,β βUpβ) Disney and Pixarβs βToy Story 4β ventures to U.S. theaters on June 21, 2019.
